DAN CLARK ELECTED 1ST XI CAPTAIN
After Andy Carter led the 1st XI to promotion to division one of the Hampshire League he dropped the bombshell that due to pressures of work as an Army Captain he would not be able to continue to lead the team in the 2008 campaign. Andy asked the membership to consider Dan Clark as his replacement and Dan was duly elected at the AGM. Dan is currently away playing cricket for South Launceston C.C. in Tasmania and is due back in April to start the pre-season campaign. As well as Dan's duty as 1st XI Captain, he also holds the role of coaching coordinator; this puts him in the ideal position to spot emerging talent within the club. The whole club wish Dan a successful first season and have pledged their support to ensure a smooth transitional period.

NEW SPONSORSHIP DEAL ANNONCED
The club has attracted a major sponsorship deal for the 2008 season with local flooring contractors, Smith Brothers Marine Ltd who are based in Fareham. Smith Brothers Marine Ltd have had a long association with the club but felt the time was right to offer the club an exclusive deal. The company’s name will appear on the club's shirts and there will be advertising at the ground on match days. The deal allows the club a degree of financial freedom to improve the facilities at the ground, which will hopefully attract quality players to the club. Everyone at the club is delighted with the new deal and thanks must go to Pete McIntyre for his tireless work in sealing the deal on the clubs behalf.
