BMCC Chairman's mid-season report

ON THE FIELD

As we get to the midway point of our season, I felt it was a good time to reflect on the season and let everyone know of some of the important events coming up.

In summary, the club is has bit of indifferent start to the season, the 1st X1 losing the first 6 games but I feel that Stu Gardner and his team are now showing there true colours, winning the last 2 games and now have a good chance to repair the early damage, with the main objective being to avoid relegation.

The 2nd X1 under Andy Carter leadership has had very good start winning 5 games and losing 2, they are in a good position to push for one of the promotion spots.

The 3rd Team has also got off to a good start, winning 5 games and losing 2, again I think that Craig Thomas and his team have a chance to finish in the highest position since joining the league, with an outside chance of promotion.

The Mariners Sunday team are having a very good season, Chris Hovey must be very pleased in his first season as captain, not losing a game and hopefully they can go on to be under defeated for the remainder of the season, well done.

Many thanks to Geoff Quade chairman of selectors and captains, at times they have had thankless task in getting sides out and I thank all the playing members for their continuous support for the remainder of the seasons, as we move into the second half of our season good luck to everybody.

This is a plea to all players and members, we are responsible for the upkeep of the porta-cabin and pavilion at Bidbury Mead and Hollybank, can we all make sure that after each game, we leave them as we found them, clean and tidy, thanks.

Parish Notices

On the 24th July it's our annual President's day, John Hovey will be working his magic again, pulling together his select X1 to taken Stu's 1st team X1, the game is a 40 overs starting at 1.00 pm.

All members and their families, along with guests are very welcome, we will be hosting a bar and after the game we will be holding a BBQ and raffle, if you are thinking of come along, then could you let any of the committee members know, so that we can make sure we have plenty of food available for everybody.

Just a reminder that the annual Presentation Evening is be held on the 24th September 2011, full details and on our website and in the tank, tickets are £30 a head and can be purchase from Theresa Carter and Rachel Thomas.

BEHIND THE SCENES

We still have a lot of outstanding subscriptions fees we are owed over £1000 pounds.

I cannot stress how much we depend on these fee's along with our sponsors donations, it the major source of our income, so for those members who have already paid a big thank to you. For those of you who still owe their fees, all I can ask is that you get them paid as soon as possible, cheers.

The welfare of all our members is important and I would like to point out to everybody that in the tank we have a notice board, which the Code of conduct and Health and Safety are displayed along with the clubs insurance and I would encourage everyone to spend some time reading them.

We will be publishing the committee minutes on our website for everyone to read and if you have any comments please feel free to feed them back to the committee.

I would like to point out to all members, that you are all ambassadors of the club and that your conduct should be positive during and after the games, in line with BMCC ethos and code of conduct.

My thanks to all on the committee for their continuous support, it is very much appreciated.

Finally, I would like to wish all players and members a good second half to our season and let's hope we can be celebrating a successful one in September.

Kind Regards

Chris Thomas
